Arion’s Aim for Independence

Arion is a 10 year old from Roswell, Georgia with sparkling eyes and a smile that melts your heart.  This Shallowford Falls third grader feels lucky to go to school everyday with his best friend, his twin brother Alton!

Arion was diagnosed at one month old with Cerebral Palsy as well as short bowel syndrome.  He also is visually impaired. But none of this impacts his positive outlook on life and his hard work to meet his physical therapy goals.  He has achieved the ability to roll over on his own and with some assistance, can even stand up.

Just like able bodied children Arion is getting bigger and heavier.  His mom has experienced struggles to lift him and has hurt her back several times trying to carry him upstairs to his bed and bathroom.  The family has asked Skye Precious Kids to help with a stair lift, which will not only help him safely go upstairs, but will also help him live more independently.  They also have asked for assistance with bathroom renovations to accommodate his larger wheelchair. They want him to have as much independence as possible and take on as much self-care as he possibly can, safely and with dignity.
